Understanding the Internet Quality Map Indonesia
The Internet Quality Map Indonesia is a community measurement project showing how connections perform in real conditions. Every result comes from a browser test deliberately started by a visitor. Toolora estimates download, upload, ping, and jitter using its own endpoints without a third-party speed-test provider. The dataset is a collection of community observations, not an official statement of an operator’s coverage or service quality.
Data source and measurement process
The download test retrieves several limited-size random payloads from Toolora. The upload test creates temporary test bytes in the browser and sends them to Toolora; the server discards the content after reading the byte count. Ping measures a small request round trip, while jitter describes variation between ping samples. No personal photos, documents, or files are selected from the device.
Location and privacy
GPS permission is optional. Visitors may select a province and city manually or continue with an Unknown location. When GPS is used, coordinates are rounded before storage so the map does not retain a full-precision device position. Toolora does not store names, email addresses, phone numbers, raw IP addresses, MAC addresses, IMEI values, or complete user-agent strings with measurements.
Aggregation and confidence
Public data is displayed as grids or regional statistics rather than individual coordinates. Medians, percentiles, active days, grid diversity, and minimum samples reduce conclusions based on sparse data. Colors and rankings are guidance based on available samples, not a guarantee of every customer experience.
Limitations and interpretation
Tests are unevenly distributed and may not represent every customer or provider coverage. Wi-Fi strength, device capability, background activity, server distance, congestion, test time, and routing can affect a result. Run several tests at different times and use the same device and location when comparing connections.
